Prof. Tomasz Sadkowski

Lab Director / Principal Investigator

Research interests focus on animal physiology, skeletal muscle biology, muscle development and regeneration, and molecular regulation of gene expression. Work combines physiological approaches with functional genomics and bioinformatics, including RNA-seq, microarray analysis, miRNA/lncRNA profiling, pathway analysis, and regulatory-network studies. Current research includes livestock and biomedical models, particularly cattle, horses, and the DMDmdx rat model, with emphasis on myogenesis, muscle pathology, HMB, and bioactive modulation of muscle metabolism.

Dr. Anna Ciecierska

Researcher

Research focuses on muscle and skeletal muscle biology, with emphasis on gene expression, biochemistry, cellular differentiation, and myogenesis. Studies explore muscle-related processes in animals including horses, and the effects of nutritional compounds such as gamma-oryzanol and β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB).

Dr. Zahra Roudbari

Dr. Zahra Roudbari

Researcher

Zahra Roudbari is an Associate Professor at the University of Jiroft , specializing in animal genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics . Her research applies high throughput transcriptomics and RNA-seq analysis to study livestock traits, including muscle development, marbling, and genetic diversity. She investigates lncRNAs, circRNAs, and alternative splicing to advance livestock breeding.

Abdolvahab Ebrahimpour Gorji

PhD Student

PhD project, supervised by Tomasz Sadkowski, investigates the molecular basis of 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyrate (HMB) in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The research integrates bioinformatics, transcriptomics, and multi-omics approaches to study muscle regeneration, myogenesis, and the molecular mechanisms through which HMB may support therapeutic strategies for muscular dystrophies.

Research interests include Holstein and Holstein Friesian cattle genetics, with a focus on haplotype analysis, genotyping, and the identification of genetic markers associated with important biological and production traits.
