About the Lab
Sadkowski Lab is a research group at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate muscle development, regeneration, and disease. Our work integrates experimental biology, animal physiology, transcriptomics, multi-omics, and bioinformatics to investigate how gene expression, non-coding RNAs, cellular pathways, and environmental or nutritional factors influence muscle function.
The lab's research covers a broad range of topics, including satellite cell biology, myogenesis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy models, miRNA and lncRNA regulation, intramuscular fat deposition in cattle, meat quality, genetic disorders in livestock, and microbiome-related responses in farm animals.
By combining wet-lab experiments with advanced computational analysis, Sadkowski Lab contributes to the development of new knowledge and potential therapeutic, nutritional, and breeding strategies that improve muscle health, animal welfare, and the understanding of muscle-related diseases.
